After the success of the Charlie Chan and Mr. Moto movies, Monogram hired Boris Karloff to play Hugh WIley's Detective James Lee Wong in a series of Mr. Wong movies. Keye Luke, Charlie Chan's No. 1 Son, played Mr. Wong in the final movie of the series.
