When Jordan La Cour walks into her classroom, sign language instructor Scotland Landau knows that she has found her future husband. Jordan is a parole officer who has been assigned to a hearing impaired offender, and he knows the fatherless boy needs lots of patience and love.

What Jordan doesn't realize is that he needs love too -- and Scotland is just the woman to give it to him. Despite his attempts to settle some unfinished business before he pursues a relationship, Jordan falls hard for the beautiful teacher.
