After growing up in a small town, working at San Francisco's Bay City Hospital was a little overwhelming for Meredith Jeffers. That was before she started going out with handsome, charming Dr. Ward Clark. In spite of the scandalous rumors about all the women Ward dated, Meredith felt their relationship was becoming something special.

Then came the accident that sent her to Mexico to recuperate. To her surprise, she ran into another Bay City doctor, Cole Burton.
