Scream Once for Help

Out of work and recently evicted, Hank Minor’s luck takes a sudden turn. Not only does he find inexpensive housing for himself and his fourteen-year-old son, but an unexpected job also presents itself: security guard for six senior citizens who may or may not have a malicious intruder terrorizing them. Outlandish in his actions, Hank is determined to pass himself off as a serious artist to the town’s newly appointed Objet D’Art Revival Committee, even as he sets about investigating the break-ins at the Marquee apartment building. All the while praying that he will not be instrumental in having one of the elderly residents arrested (or worse yet, committed), he enlists the help of a freethinking bag lady. Set in the picturesque Southern California coastal town where he grew up, Hank is constantly faced with the changing times while clinging to his memories of a more innocent era.
