When a little lost puppy and his box fly from the back of a truck, he meets the school librarian and his world is turned upside-down! Not only does she give him a home, Miss Copywright gives him a name and a job! He gets to go to school every day and cuddle up with students to listen to them read. Since he's a Scottish Terrier, Miss Copywright names him Scanner, after the thing she uses to scan and check out books to her students. But Ms. Copywright doesn't know that when her scanner zapped him, it did something really weird. Now Scanner can read!
