Scalpel Redux

Scalpel Redux is the second novel in the Scalpel series. The saga continues as we rejoin Dr. Alex Blanton in Europe where he has been recuperating. He is restless and makes plans to return to his former activities. He often reminisces about his lost marriage and talks to his dead wife. His activities take him throughout the United States, once again under the probing eye of Detective McClymonds who is always just a step behind. Blanton's intellect and Jekyll and Hyde persona taunt McClymons as he struggles to find and stop the evasive killer. As Blanton continues his murderous rampage, he finds himself in the midst of a group of terrorists plotting to detonate a nuclear weapon and assassinate the President. Ever the poet and philosopher, Blanton carries out his crimes in macabre, creative ways. He then acts as judge, jury, and executioner for all of his victims until finally, he is captured by McClymonds in the South Seas and brought back to the states to face justice ...or is he?
