By known Biblical accounts, Samson killed a lion with his bare hands, killed 1,000 men in hand-to-hand combat with a jawbone of an ass and tore down a huge building with his superhuman power. Still, legend has it that Samson was a virtual superman, who could lift stone mountains and fly.

Samson was from a time that often mixed fantastic, undocumented accounts with known realities. He lived more than 1,000 years B.C., an ancient ancient. That was an ancient era when a tower to the heavens and giant pyramids were built, men lived to 900, God flooded the entire Earth and parted the Red Sea. These things add to the mystery and legend of Samson.
