About This Book

Safe: Beyond Boundaries is a true story about three individuals who become bound together, each with dramatically different backgrounds. It begins with a young, Texas-born girl who is abandoned by her mother at an orphanage at the age of four. And while there, she later suffers the most horrifying abuse over six years. Another individual is a girl born in Australia during the earliest years of the Great Depression and whose next eighty-six years are filled with countless disappointments and are then concluded in the merciless fog of Alzheimer's. The third is a young boy who meets the recently escaped orphan girl their first day at high school, only a few months after her terrifying ordeals have finally ended. Eventually, a lifetime of contacts and interconnections is woven with and between all three of these individuals and is concluded with the two high school classmates getting married as they enter their own lives' final chapters. This story describes in detail how life's trials, even the most desperate and horrifying ones, can be faced through faith and trust. And this occurs for these three participants after the orphaned girl and young boy are completely separated from each other by decades and thousands of miles. However, it requires that each person had to dare to live and to struggle to find a measure of happiness and peace. It is meant to offer insight and comfort, by describing the challenges and options beyond the customary boundaries set by our society.
