A former soldier with a haunting past, William now sits sad and alone in his seedy New York apartment. His days are spent chasing away the nightmares of war with booze, and he carries on an imaginary -- and passionate -- love affair with a prostitute he watches from his window. He calls her Rose, imagining she wears rosewater perfume he can almost smell.
William yearns for her and craves her touch, but "Rose" doesn't know about her amorous voyeur. And neither she nor William realize their destinies are irrevocably entwined.
