About This Book
In the beautiful city with two names, where this story takes place, a long-standing hatred erupts into violence. On Sunday January 30, 1972, 13 unarmed civilians were shot dead and another 13 were wounded. This event came to be known as Bloody Sunday. In the middle of all this hate, two unlucky teens, Ryan and Rebecca, fall in love with each other. Unlike, Romeo and Juliet, the story of their doomed love does not put an end to the conflict. RYAN is the son of John and Anne. He is eighteen years old, handsome, intelligent, and sensitive. Although impulsive and immature, his idealism and passion makes him an extremely likable character. He lives in Londonderry, is British, but he is not at all interested in violence. His only interest is love. The instant he sees Rebecca, he falls in love with her and he would rather die than live without her. REBECCA is the daughter of Shane and Rachel. A beautiful seventeen-year-old girl, who has thought little about love, but she grows up quickly upon falling in love with Ryan. Rebecca lives in Derry, is Irish, and might as well live across the universe from Ryan. She shows amazing courage in trusting her entire life and future to Ryan.
