Sonny Tate is a little depressed. Her sister, Coral, a runaway, has been gone for eighteen months now. While her mother consults a psychic, her father doesn't even mention Coral's name. In the meantime, nobody is paying attention to Sonny--except to yell at her or to ground her for the stupidest things.



Then her life changes. After helping out the very cool Janna, Sonny is accepted into her clique and that brings on the flirty attentions of Brett, the cutest boy in school. Sonny is flattered until Brett starts spreading nasty rumors about her. Now Sonny is desperate to escape. So she decides to follow in her sister's footsteps and run away, unaware of the consequences. . . .
