Hank Reardon could outrope and outride any man in Wyoming but guilt over his wife's death while he was out on the rodeo circuit forced him to retreat to his ranch to breed horses and break mustangs, vowing never to compete again.

Kit Sloan had been assigned to photograph Reardon's annual roundup, and from her vantage point, he still had the stuff rodeo champions were made of. She knew he was born winner -- and she soon lost her heart to him.

With Kit spurring him on, Hank finally returned to the circuit. But someone else didn't want him in the competition and would stop at nothing to keep Hank out of the arena -- and keep Kit out of his arms....
