It's Independence Day in Sawyerville and all sorts of explosions and excitement are abound.

Ruby makes a drastic change with the help of some of the other prospective brides. Although changing from her boy's clothes to a new gingham dress, she still carries her Colt .45 in the waistband of her dress. She's ready for whatever comes her way.

Farley had her eye on Ruby from the first moment he layed eyes on her. He was handsome and a great catch. During the 4th of July picnic when he steps in to claim her as his own, he ends up foiling a nasty plan of several of the other men against the women of Sawyerville.

After all the exploding excitement of the picnic and promising hope for a wedding, Ruby grows concerned when Farley suddenly leaves. She wonders if he will ever come back and if she will ever marry.
