Two years earlier, Emma Wakefield's fiance had disappeared without a trace.

Emma never really recovered from losing Raoul Villard, but she tried to resume a normal life. She went on to finish her veterinary studies and had recently begun working for a Denver clinic. One of its clients was a monastery high in the Colorado Rockies, where the monks raised and trained St. Bernards.

To Emma's shock, she saw Raoul there. She was sure of it. But Raoul--a monk? Why hadn't he told her, confided in her? Why did he just disappear? Emma had to know ... even if it meant following him into a blizzard.
