Remembering Jounieh

Set in war-torn Beirut in 1976 during the Lebanese civil war this is a love story about a banker and a Muslim student, who fall in love during the dark days immediately before all foreigners were evacuated from the city. The couple flee Beirut for the relative safety of the holiday resort of Jounieh across the bay from the city. There they commit their love on a stretch of white pristine beach. But then hardly had the couple consummated their love, tragedy strikes at the Green Line crossing between east and west Beirut.
