Remains to Be Seen

With no idea of what awaits her, Philippa Lyle returns to her hometown, the quiet English village of Montoak. Anticipating nothing more than an uneventful visit with her mother and some childhood friends, she discovers that all Montoak is in a state of excitement caused by recent archaeological excavations on the site of a ruined Roman villa. In spite of the fiancé she has left behind in Canada, Philippa is drawn to Ward Rowallen, the organizer of the dig and heir to the town's crumbling manor house. As they become totally absorbed in town life, the unfolding secrets of the excavation, and one another, Canada seems very far away to Philippa -- until her fiancé arrives and complicates the situation.
