Rehearsal for a Wedding

The flurry of excitement that precedes a wedding brought two New York girls—roommates—to the small town of Hazelton. Linsay was to be maid of honor at her sister's wedding, and Celia, a guest.

In Hazelton, Celia, a not-too successful actress, saw for the first time the sort of small town security which up to then had been completely outside her ken and determined to achieve it for herself at whatever cost, even if it meant life in a dull and dreary community—and stealing her best friend's childhood sweetheart.
