      Red Leaf is a Native American boy who lives on a reservation on the Great Northern Plains. His Grandfather is teaching him the ways of the Sacred Path their ancestors walked. The story begins with Red Leaf at eleven years old, learning about Fire Keeping. When Red Leaf is twelve, he begins to go in the Sweat Lodge. At thirteen, he goes out on Vision Quest. Told in simple story form, the traditions described in this book are still in use today.
