PAYOFF OR PAYBACK?

Jim McCutcheon and Jake Penn are down on their luck and in desperate need of work. Then an old friend of Penn's--millionaire Abel Blain--entrusts him with an important mission. Unfortunately this trust doesn't extend to McCutcheon, who moves on to find his own employment.

In the town of Black Hill, McCutcheon discovers the secret behind the mission. Blain's niece has been kidnapped and he's hired Penn as one of the ransom riders who will deliver the money and bring her back safely. Concerned about Penn's safety, McCutcheon follows their trail.

McCutcheon is right to be worried because one of the ransom riders is not what he seems. When he reveals his true colors, Penn finds himself surrounded by enemies--and the last remaining hope for the young girl's survival....
