Ralph Forney

A quick reading western novel about a man who was born and raised in eastern Texas, went off to war (the Civil War/War of Aggression)and then made his way west to earn his living. He had no trade, no particular skills but he had grit and determination. He learned several ways to earn, worked at a number of jobs but settled on being a lawman at the last. He lived, loved, had children, was exhilerated by life and all that it brought him and crushed by despair and sadness in what it took from him. An easy reading story of any man growing up in the west, choosing his way to live and living.
