Rain in Kansas

When Catherine finds herself living in a small mountain town with her distant cousin, Pauline, she's sure that her life will start to get better. She's lost her entire family but still has her faith - and of course, this distant cousin she found when her grandmother died. However, she soon discovers that Pauline is willing to sell Catherine in order to reclaim her place in society.

Fearing a marriage to a digusting man who is much older, and corrupt, she flees to the only man she believes can help her. What she finds is a family in turmoil and a man who carries the scars of a lost love. If she can help him heal, she just might have a chance at the life she dreams of.
