In the not so distant and nowhere near as bright future, Chantal Kiffer grows up in what could best be described as a slum in Washington, D.C. After he is pressured by his parents to leave her, she resorts to alcohol in larger amounts to hide from herself. This futuristic romance takes off when Chantal is at her lowest and meets a human clone named Erika. As Chantal recovers from the injuries life has dealt her, she and Erika become lovers and leave the lawless zone in which they are living.
