Ragnar Lothbrok, Sea King

King Ragnar Lothbrok of Denmark has been captured by Aella, King of Northumbria. Before his execution, the Abbot of York records Ragnar's life history, including the story of his family, their Gods, and their way of life. After his execution, Queen Aslaug sends his sons to Britain seeking revenge. They pillage everywhere, killing two English Kings in the process. Only the Kingdom of Wessex on the southern coast stands in their way of complete conquest. Under a new leader, King Alfred, their men try to hold the line against the battle-hardened veterans of the Norse. But help comes from unexpected quarters; a renegade Dane instructs Alfred's young warriors and a priest uses his visions of a long-dead saint to give hope and strength to their souls. But will it be enough to keep them from being driven into the sea?
