While Dante Trevani stands in the way, the glorious reign of Queen Elizabeth I will never occur. So an English astrologer uses his powers of the occult to sweep Dante across centuries and miles. One moment, Dante is in England, betrothed to a girl named Elizabeth Tudor, and the next, he's in a strange place called Arizona -- in 1887 -- confronting feisty redheaded ex-circus performer Gloriana Carlisle.

When Dante studies a bit of history and discovers the destiny of his promised bride, he faces the dilemma of a lifetime: return to the past and claim the Queen of England as his wife, or stay in Arizona with the queen of his heart.
