Liza Manchester, outspoken member of Graham University's feminist community, couldn't stand Professor Scott Harburton. Scott, best-selling author of pop psychology books, was a nightmare of positive thinking, so blithely self-assured that he refused to leave Liza alone, despite her pleas, demands, and rages. Having recently completed a book on what women want, Scott was confident that Liza would relent, proving his theories correct as usual.

But something odd began to happen to Scott's experiment, gleefully labeled "the affair of the professor and the feminist" by local papers. A new element crept in, one Liza never anticipated, one Scott couldn't identify....
