She wouldn't pretend to be a happy bride

Logan Ramsey expected Kathryn to keep the promise she had made before walking out on him five years ago. "We'll be married tomorrow," he said when he found her again.

After Kathryn disappeared, Logan had married her sister, Carol. With Carol's death, their only child needed a mother, and Logan wanted a wife Kathryn was given no choice in the matter.

Five years should have destroyed Kathryn's love for Logan or at least lessened the painful memory of his betrayal. But the time seemed too short to Kathryn.
