Promise Me the Dawn

Set in turn-of-the-century San Francisco and Monterey, Promise Me the Dawn weaves the tender love story of spirited, dark-haired English beauty Molly Quinn and Shane MacAlister, an immigrant who came to America to flee his family's titles, wealth, and influence. During the dark days that follow the 1906 earthquake, Molly and Shane plan a future rendezvous on the Pacific cliffs. After they separate, Molly makes a name for herself and becomes the glamorous, new toast of the town. When Shane proposes, Molly decides that she hasn't lived enough yet, and lets him go.
