Moving through foster homes forced Esther to be independent, but she was not prepared to become the captive, trophy wife of a mobster. Despondent from an abortion her husband forced on her, she became rebellious. She met an elderly woman who changed her life by leading her to Christ, but the vengeful mob framed her for murder and her calling to evangelism would be inside prison walls. She is beaten by inmates for her efforts, but falls in love with Bill, a writing instructor. She must choose between God's work in the prison or freedom and life with the one she loves. But if Bill works to free her, they would be risking his life and hers at the hands of an angry syndicate.
