Precious Jewel

Jewel Hanlin is an orphan who has been tossed around by the system. Nate Wesley is a rookie FBI agent who has lost all he held dear. The only thing the two have in common is their grief over what they've lost. Then Jewel is unwittingly placed in the home of a criminal, and Nate is called to the same house. The fright of her life results in Jewel being placed with a loving family, but there are more sinister things afoot.
