When young Dr. Sage Harland arrived in the little coastal town of Point Virtue, Oregon, he found a community in the throes of rapid expansion. The town fathers foresaw the day when Point Virtue would be another San Francisco!

But Harland discovered that beneath the prosperous surface seethed violent passions, political corruption, poverty and disease.

Added to that was the conflict in his own heart, as he attempted to choose between two beautiful women -- elegant, coquettish Diantha who aroused his senses to fever pitch, and gentle Genevieve, a stranger like himself, with a mysterious past.

It would take all Sage Harland's strength and ingenuity to make a life for himself in Point Virtue, and to vanquish the man who had vowed to destroy him!
