I could not wait for my mother to see the play. She would be proud of having me for a daughter. People would tell her that she should take me to Hollywood, that I had natural talent. Then I would be famous, it would not matter what other people thought about her, my mother would go back to just being my mother because of my fame and fortune.

As part of the only Native American family in town, Ana is used to being different, but still, part of her longs to be just like her fair-skinned classmates. Her desire to fit in causes a riff between her and her heritage proud mother, can a school play offer a solution?
