Planet Earth Terminated

This novel is about the large quantities of extremely long-lived radioactive materials stored in cooling channels at reactor sites, hazardous radioactive wastes stored in unsafe depositories, weapons grade uranium contained in equipment that is subject to nuclear criticality conditions, outdoor storage of thousands of tons of UF6 in 14-ton cylinders that have exceeded their normal life-span, and thousands of gallons of hazardous wastes from plutonium recovery operations that are stored in tanks subject to leakage into the public water systems. In the event of a terrorist planting explosives in any of these sites, many thousands of people would suffer instant death or die later from radioactive or toxic exposure.
