Piper Rose

After Piper is abducted, one of her kidnappers threatens to kill her. The other one whispers to her that he works for her father, the chief of police. She doesn't know if she can trust him and doesn't want to hang around to find out. While left alone in a room with an open skylight, she grabs her chance. Piper unties her hands and uses levitation to escape, one of her psychic talents.

Beckett is surprised Piper is gone, but he finds her in a nearby tree. He must get the girl home before she's killed. As they're trying to escape, the kidnapper returns. Piper pulls Beckett into a tree, where they watch alligators come out of the lake below them.

Two cops have been murdered, and Beckett's mission is to find evidence to convict their killer, the man behind the kidnapping. He knows if they're found, they could also be killed, and he's grown too fond of the feisty girl to lose her now.
