When hard times hit, and a drought furthermore causes the Jensen family to lose their Idaho farm, they must sell, pack up, and look for work in another state; a move that requires leaving their beloved pig, Bruno, behind with the new owners. Raised with the Jenson children, it's a sad situation for both Bruno and the entire family. Alone in the barn with just a handful of chickens and a cow, Bruno grows despondent. A Hollywood producer hears of Bruno's unusual story, pays a visit to the Jensens - a lucrative visit - which enables them to buy back their beloved Idaho farm with money left over to install irrigation that will mitigate any future drought.
