Mandy Hope loves animals. She knows all about them — both her parents are vets! Mandy is always ready to help out her friends with their pet problems.

Max is spending Christmas in Welford with his grandma, Mrs. Trigg. But she isn't making his terrier puppy very welcome. In fact, she's planning to send Sandy away to the kennel! Mandy and James want Max and his pet to join in the Welford festivities. Can they help convince Mrs. Trigg to let Sandy stay?
