Penrod's Busy Day

Penrod’s Busy Day is just one of a number of comic sketches taken from the book, Penrod, written by Booth Tarkington in 1914. Each of the sketches illustrates an incident supposedly from the life of Penrod Schofield, an 11-year-old boy living in the Midwestern U.S. world just before WWI. His ongoing feuds with his older sister, Margaret, will bring a smile to your face and remind you of similar disputes among the members of your own family. Penrod’s attempts to “get even” usually end up not nearly as satisfying as he imagined they would be.
