This book contains a rich sampling of life in the Fifties. Growing up after WWII in a prosperous, carefree land, the biggest worry was if a special girl or guy would be at the high school dance or if your report card was met with approval. It was also a time of world growing pains. The bomb ended WWII, but started a new way of life for most of the world. The race to get the bomb was on and the world of espionage began. The world was at peace, or was it? The Cold War was treacherous and deadly for those who participated. This story is about the history of the time blended with fictional characters; a few of which you will learn to hate, but most you will feel you know personally and grow to love deeply. The main character is Rick Kaletti, an amazing young man who learns to fly at a very young age from a crop duster friend. He uses his skill to launch his career in the U.S. Airforce and later with the CIA.
