Dr. Sloan Adams provoked Lacy Stewart endlessly. Trapped beside the annoyingly handsome veterinarian on the flight from Boston to Austin, Texas, Lacy only wanted to be left alone. Sloan Adams, was by turns infuriating and exasperating.

Lacy breathed a sigh of relief when the flight was over but, as luck would have it, their paths crossed again ... and again.

It wasn't love. Love was that calm, comfortable feeling Lacy felt for Richard Evans. Sloan Adams didn't make her feel comfortable. In fact, he made her feel like running in the other direction. But then, Lacy kept asking herself, why wasn't she running?
