Passion and Fate

Gertrude MacLeish, the eldest of five surviving children, was a very ambitious woman, but she had limitations. She never learned to read or write, and although she was illiterate, she was smart enough to know this lack was much like a handicap. In her eyes, her limitations were endless, and she was just not happy with what she had discovered about herself. Her difficult and challenging life only motivated her to turn her failures into successes. However this was proving a little stressful for her and many times she felt that she would just throw in the towel. It seemed everything she touched ended in disaster. The loss of her first husband and children were very devastating for her but when she though her life was over, she was lucky to find love again.
