Overcoming

When I woke up from the coma, I was told that a drunk driver had hit me in a head-on collision. It was a severe car crash that instantly killed my boyfriend and the drunk driver of the other car. I learned that it was a miracle that I had survived the accident and that I had already undergone several back surgeries to try to repair the damage to my spine. Soon it became apparent that I must now face a life without the use of my legs. My journey began that day. The guidance I received from many men and women helped shape me into the person I have become. I have learned to face adversity and challenges with determination and humor.
