Although still in mourning, beautiful young Dr. Sara Jane Cary consented to a second marriage -- only to save a wounded young soldier of the Confederacy from certain death in a Yankee prison. But as the gentle blond giant of a man they called "Johnny" recovered, he had no memory of the marriage, or anything that had gone before.
