Leonora had awoken to discover she had no memory of her surroundings or of how she had sustained the excruciatingly painful wound to her head. She also had no memory of her past -- Leonora simply had no idea who she was!

Dr. Penry Vaughan, a dark, brooding man, claimed he found her lying half-dead on the shore of his private Welsh island. He wasn't pleased by Leonora's intrusion.
