Charlie Warner Kennedy O'Brien, is an Private Investigator (e.g. Private Detective or Private Eye if you prefer). In this said novel, he investigates and solves 'White Collar' crimes as well as other types of heinous criminal activities in Orange County, California. It is one of the most lovely areas in the United States, and perhaps, the whole world. It has some of the most beautiful and exquisite beaches anywhere, as well. Those beaches are dotted all along The OC (i.e. Orange County), as it's sands reach out to touch the crystal clear and quite majestic royal blue Pacific Ocean of Southern California. Charlie (i.e. our stories main protagonist and anti-hero) loves to surf and has been surfing the Huntington State Beach pier for 30 years now. He has a classic 1949 Chevy 'Woodie' with a newer Chevy 409 V-8 to carry his old (like himself) long board, as well as two new custom made boards. He loves surfing music, and especially the Beach Boys, naturally.
