Later, they visit farmer Upton Clydesdale, who convinces Alouishus to give his coat a thorough soap scrubbing, which makes Al sweat profusely. Finally, on the way home, they stop at Baxter Tidwell's general store. While drinking a root beer, Alouishus suddenly realizes that his sense of smell has returned, and consequently, their case is solved.
