One Foot in the Stirrup

Luke Johnson's partner, Clay Peters, can see further than most normal people. But neither he nor Luke can spot the trouble ahead when they buy a ramshackle old ranch that no one ever cared about before.

Suddenly, a great many people want to get Luke and Clay off the place. A smooth-talking real-estate man and several bush whackers try to buy them out, burn them out, shoot them out. Yet Luke and Clay are determined to stay there, raising cattle and horses. If they survive.

But their enemies grow more and more desperate to get their hands on that land and the secret it contains. They'll stop at nothing to take control.

And unless Luke and Clay agree to leave, they've each got one foot in the stirrup -- and one foot in the grave.
