Edward Jenkins was a twenty-three-year-old professional footballer and was living the dream. He had a luxury flat, a flashy car and a beautiful girlfriend and never gave a thought to the needs of anyone else. When life forced him to open his eyes to the needs of other people, it offered him the opportunity to help someone. It would be the first good thing he had ever done. It was a painful decision that could change his life forever. Mary Garrington was a blind fourteen-year-old and lived each day in the hope that she would be able to have an operation to restore her sight.
