On the Run

Naveah! Give me your phone right now. Mom lunged forward and grabbed Naveah's hand. No! Naveah twisted away, bumping her hip against Mom's stomach. An awful groan sliced the air. Naveah turned to see her mother double over, gripping her midsection. Then Mom's legs buckled, and she collapsed to the floor, moaning with pain.
