Olivia Twist a modern take on Olivier Twist but reset between 1972 and 1991 Birmingham and a suburb of Wolverhampton with Oliver now being a girl, Olivia Twist, and Jack Dodger Dawkins being her boyfriend and an adopted name for Smike from Nicholas Nickleby.The general story has been adapted and modernized from the original Dickens (and a lengthy process) including adapted and modernized extracts from Nicholas Nickleby (Dothhall boys school) and Great Expectations (Miss Haversham) and a dream adaptation from Christmas Carol.There is also an abridged and modernized Pickwick Papers inside Olivia Twist as she does time in prison and where she records audio stories as part of prison work.
