Old Soldiers Never Die

Life without Laura is difficult enough for the Colonel without also being forced to take early retirement. Encouraged by his friends, he moves into and renovates a dilapidated cottage in the village of Frog End, a place he and Laura had discovered many years ago, which is suffused with happy memories. But when Lady Swynford is found dead on the night of the annual fete, it becomes apparent that Frog End has a darker side. And as Inspector Squibb investigates the case, the Colonel finds himself more involved than he could possibly have imagined.
