About This Book

I don't care what any of them say, John Lennon is the greatest man that ever lived. I played my Beatles records all day and tried not to pay attention as more and more of the young men in town were drafted and sent off to the jungles. It was crazy times and you could just feel the surge of change in the air and I wanted desperately to be a part of it.

I did my part for the revolution, I tie-dyed everything I owned and ironed my hair while listening to Joplin. I wanted to try the new drugs they talked about on the news like acid and LSD, but in Lanesville the closest you could get was cough syrup from the Lanesville Food Mart. I wanted to escape, expand my mind, and all that stuff, it was just sort of hard to do in the town that time forgot.
